Cross posting this week in Marcela in Transit since I'm traveling this week--yet another conference. Went home to NC since hostel costs were adding up and wanted to spend Mom's birthday with her. Had a few interviews while at home, though probably too code oriented for an offer. Missed Yahoo phone interview since my phone turned off, ironic since I had been annoyed with Mom earlier for inadvertedly having her phone off when I was looking for her. Went to a cappella college concert--not 5 minutes after getting tickets found Bianca in line so sat with her and Wayne. Also saw a few other NC State people from chorus. Georgia Tech group won, despite local support for Duke group.
Arrived in Seattle last night, finally got to meet Mike's fiancee, Lin who is beautiful. He's staying at her place so I have his apt to myself while I'm at the conference. Felt animated, relaxed talking to them in comparison to quietness at conference with so many strange people.
Brunched with Rebecca, who I haven't seen in 10 yrs and Theresa who I never met, both from Bryn Mawr. Theresa was actually the one behind arranging us all getting together, which felt good since usually I have to do all the asking people to meet up. Ate at Etta's, on the upscale side where I tried polenta (good). Found cool Native store as well as antique store where our old lunchboxes were selling for $40!
