Bizarre state of affairs when both parties are opposing Bush's candidate for Supreme Court, though news only focuses on the worries of conservatives since apparently liberal views are irrelevant. But now Salon is agreeing with Anne Coulter's column which says: "If the president meant Harriet Miers seriously, I have to assume Bush wants to go back to Crawford and let Dick Cheney run the country.[Wasn't that what was already happening??] Unfortunately for Bush, he could nominate his Scottish terrier Barney, and some conservatives would rush to defend him, claiming to be in possession of secret information convincing them that the pooch is a true conservative and listing Barney's many virtues -- loyalty, courage, never jumps on the furniture." (!!) Strong words from someone who has called anyone who opposes Bush to be a traitor. Apparently Rush Limbaugh is also questioning the choice, though Cheney called in to assure him it would be good.

Somewhat related to blogger conference which I've been attending with its strong focus on community, providing a forum and making it more diverse (took place at A & T which definitely made this most diverse audience!). Talked about bringing together different viewpoints versus having an area where like-minded people can gather.

Greyhound blues as was ignored for 10 minutes. Typical of their customer service.
