So enough of this gloominess. Reading a really good book to help me through this: "Easier Than You Think"
p 34 choose to change attitude
p 59 "take five..create emotional space within ourselves to be able to respond to life rather than just react to it. By immediately reacting to people and events that we have no control over, we are fighting a battle we are going to lose. But by taking five, standing back and getting perspective, we gain an understanding of the situation at hand and realize the best way to move forward
p.67 Notice what gets you. obsessing over what stresses us out can cause more stress than originally made us stressed to begin with
p.88 Be aware that your mood is the starting place of your experience, not the end product...bad mood colors the way you see things, so important to be aware need to make adjustments, don't find blame or try to figure it out
p. 104 Find a way to laugh each day
p. 140 "My intention is to assume innocence and to trust in the goodwill of others. If, on occasion, others break this trust, it will not adversely affect my sense of wellbeing. If need be, I'll make adjustments, but i won't allow others to affect my personal happiness"
p.144 no more regrets: "i choose to believe that everything in my life happened for a reason. I have made good decisions that support a positive, wonderful life. I will not look back, unless it is to learn or appreciate something or to teach someone else a valuable life lesson"
Heard from Shannon Seymour, very relaxing, got email from Jeremy and Paul, call from Jennifer Neale. So it's nice to feel a connection from people.
