Another depressing day. Started out well. Actually made 2 substantial comments in Amy's class, bringing up one of her next points and giving a good story, about Webgrrls. Yay. Next a fireside chat with Genevieve Bell, where she recognized me and commented on the papers I had out. Fascinating stories,then a talk on "Does Jesus do SMS?" then another talk in ethnography class. Beki looking on in awe, happy that she had given good advice to us. Asked Gen about elephant in room at CHI conference, pornography, which I thought was funny but apparently people still don't want to talk about it.
After work, ice cream at Google reception. Bumped into Shannon a few times. Talked with another MiCS person who asked me how I liked it. Actually got a chance to say what I thought--some days it felt like a community, other days it felt like I was on my own, struggling with noone to help, homesick and so on. Then went in search of poster board which was a little more stressful than I was expecting. Got depressed, ate, but still anxious about tomorrow.
