Got my graduation forms signed albeit with a somber reminder that I needed a 3.0 to graduate. To think when I started college, would never occurred to me that that would be a problem. Feel like I'm sliding some days instead of learning anything. Or maybe it's just a self-fulfilling prophecy since I get so discouraged sometimes. More griping over cleaning situation with Stephanie and Jyogia so hopefully I'll be able to get everything together in just a few days.
Notes from Creating Breakthrough Ideas
Discovery Research is an open-ended exploratory effort to learn about consumer culture. It is useful for developing original product and service ideas or finding new applications for existing and emerging technologies.
Definition research is a more focused effort. It assumes that there is already a product concept. It helps define the products by identifying the implications of consumer culture for design and market strategy. It is particularly useful for gathering knowledge that can guide business decisions, and for matching products with appropriate customer groups.
Evaluation research assumes that there is already a working product or prototype. It helps refine and validate product prototypes, design usability, market segments, and consumer preferences. Any project may start with any one research platform and lead to others. Teams might start with discovery research and proceed to definitional research once a concept has been selected. Or they might start with evaluative research and find opportunities that lead directly to definitional or exploratory research.
