Busy weekend. Friday night French film, saying goodbye to Surrabhi who checked out early, leaving behind trash in a blur as she took off Saturday morning. Went to Emory workshop on medical writing. On spur of the moment, decided to go to Inman Park festival since I was out anyway, so much like Hyde Park arts festival with arts booths, Victorian house tours, and a parade. Didn't realize Atlanta had so much character in its neighborhoods. Especially had fun with Seed & Feed Marching Abominables--mostly middle aged people dressed brightly with tutu skirts, funky hats (even lamp shade), fishnet tights and silver go-go boots. Bought funny cat magnets.
Today mostly relaxing, cleaning up and catching up on reading. Interpreter of Maladies, incredibly good. Passage: "Their rancor toward Bibi was fixed on their lips, thinner than the strings with which they tied our purchases". On rain: "It came slapping across the roof like a boy in slippers too big for him and washed Mrs. Dalal's lemon peels into the gutter."
