Just came back from an incredible concert by Sweet Honey in the Rock. It was amazing--almost a spiritual experience. "We who believe in freedom shall not rest"
Coretta King was there to give an award and Beverly Tatum was also there as a board member--and remembered me from her talk at Tech! Very diverse crowd-- black, white, gay,young,old. Went with Laura, someone from AVEN who was also a Sweet Honey fan. Her mom and her and I went to Tamarind for Thai beforehand, their treat, and for chocolate milkshakes afterwards. Fun.
This morning got up early to go to Korean class. Ended up that it starts next week, but Japanese class was going on so I sat in on that instead. That was actually at the right level, but didn't use kana at all so would be kind of useless. Met owner who speaks 7 languages and offered to give free private lessons to catch up in the Korean class.Wandered Perimeter mall a little afterwards. Found some great Maya Angelou quotes at Hallmark:

Last night was a little restless so ended up going for a while to international party. Bumped into 3 HCI people and met women from Germany and Kenya.
