Bored at work. Don't think I'm cut out for cubicle life, but then it's only my first week so hopefully I can figure out what I'm doing soon.

Last night went to Fernbank Planetarium. Took over an hour from Arts Center because just missed train and bus connections and almost got off at wrong stop which really would have screwed me up. Still made it in time for show though, given by April Witt, another ex-Adlerite. Fun except for recorded Saturn feature at end which was a little too long. Got to see Orion Nebula and Mars among other things through telescope in observatory. Cold, but luckily got ride home with friendly couple, one of whom is also Tech alum. Event was supposed to be with Team Ivy, but only met 3 people from there.

Wednesday watched "Angel". Gets weirder with its law firm premise, making fun of ads, but this week focusing on Harmony. Black vampire who was more qualified got passed over for her job, which is mainly a "get me my coffee now" position anyway. So it turns out Angel can be racist and sexist as well--kind of a depressing ending though with a humorous touch.

Tuesday tried the Speeddating thing. Was ok. A little annoyed that entrance fee didn't include drinks or food aside from crackers and nuts. Guess it's not surprising, and at least I didn't have to pay full price tickets. It ended up being ok--had a nice time talking to different people and didn't get stressed out the way I thought I would like in job interviews. Wasn't really expecting to meet anyone--just not used to that kind of dating but wouldn't mind seeing some of the people again. Best connection was actually made when a couple of the Tech-related guys referred me to another attendee who was a fundraiser for Tech. She referred me to the fundraiser for COC so hopefully that could lead to something.
