So detached from all the work I have to do. Tonight's entertainment was Urinetown. Pretty bizarre in a self aware sort of way--Little Sally:"But noone will want to see a sad musical. And the title is horrible!" or something like that. Saturday night GHNet formal gala. JA from work was there and got put on the spot several times since he won a chair on city council. Got a ride from Giselle, the advisor who was surprised at my age--guess I'm closer to her age than I am to undergrads. Got some good studying in while waiting for the banquet to start. Friday night 'La Balsa Piedra" with Claudia (Chilena) which had a lot of magical realism, became more absurd towards the end. "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"at student center until really late. A lot of cool Chicago backdrops, more realistic suspension of disbelief. Thursday, L' Auberge Espagnol--fun at first, sloggy towards end except for one scene near end.
