Well it's been over a month since my last entry--somehow things seem more mundane at home so there's not that incentive to constantly write about things. Back in Atlanta juggling different aspects of graduate school and things seem to be going well so far--chorus, Aibo project, GRA, and actually recognizing people.
Reviews:
Saw "Kissing Jessica Stein" again. It was fun, though the ending kind of got to me--is sex really what it's all about? Not to mention the weirdness that 28 is always the magic age when everyone in the movies wants to get serious like in "My Best Friend's Wedding". Feels like some kind of strange time warp--no way can I relate to that.
Series finale of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"--supposed to be empowering, the ultimate grrl power, but I still can't help feeling like it shows violence is the answer. You're telling me a girl is supposed to defeat something with supernatural powers just by a bunch of karate chops and well aimed sharp sticks? A show with so many demons but the only angel is a vampire.
"Bowling for Columbine"--disturbing in parts, though in other parts Michael Moore seems to take center stage gouding celebrities.
